Preparing for Christmas

One of our advent traditions. Our list of favorite books grows each year.

Some branches, some pine cones, some jars and some glitter.

The children's nativity takes center stage.

The promise of new life born in the coldest of days.

Family traditions carried on.

Some paper, some scissors, some inspiration and an online tutorial.

Hearts stretching to make room...
the Savior is coming.

My name is Amy. This little corner of the world wide web is where I scratch out my inklings and ponderments in the fleeting quiet moments of the day. My not-so-quiet moments are spent being a helpmeet to my amazing husband of 16 years, mothering and teaching our two beautiful children (yearning for more), Bible studying, homekeeping, book reading, knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, guitar learning, errand running, puppy training, health seeking, photo taking, volunteering, and in all of it ~ Christ following.

As much as I strive to do all these things, and do them well, I fail. Miserably. All the time.

When I sit overwhelmed, out of juice, and in need of encouragement ~ I pull out my Bible, inhale it's fresh heavenly scent, and know that I am just one day closer.
One day closer to seeing Jesus' face.
One day closer to true freedom.
One day closer to real peace.
One day closer to His rest.
One day closer....
